Matthew 5:13-16 (Believers Are Salt and Light)

Matthew 5:13-16
Believers Are Salt and Light

MSG v13. "Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness?

AMP v16. "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven."

MSG v16. "Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven."

A sister told me last night that the Beatitudes (Matt 5:1-12) can be seen as "Be-Attitudes".

Jesus begins His first teaching by focusing on your mind, your attitudes and your thinking. Isn't He kind to reveal to you the rewards of heaven if you so choose to follow them? Only after that He goes on to talk about your purpose on Earth and your "good works" (NKJV v16.).

Today is another new beginning. Today I make a stand to end my double life.
