Matthew 4:12-17 (Jesus Begins His Gallilean Ministry)

Matthew 4:12-17
(Jesus Begins His Gallilean Ministry)

- v17. “...Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

This phrase just keeps arresting me, especially since John the Baptist just mentioned it earlier in Matthew 3:1.

Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand...
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand...
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

It just has a very doomsday connotation to it. I feel sin-conscious and condemned.

Then the Spirit spoke, "Repent, change your mind about your condemnation, because now you have access to the kingdom of God, you have access to righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). So you are now able to get out of your condemnation!"
