Jeremiah 17: 7-8
“ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope IS the LORD.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
think about some things. what is the difference between saying that your hope is IN the Lord and your hope IS the Lord.
i love the part that says " and will not be anxious in the year of the drought". i have always wondered what it means to fight FROM victory ground and this verse tells me something. it tells me that even when my circumstances are unfavourable, when everything is hardpressed against me, i will not be anxious or fearful because i have already won. only people who know that they have already won the battle can afford to be restful and not be anxious when everything seems to be going against them. lets be like the tree not the cursed man.

I had this revelation once when I was playing Xenosaga III (an RPG game) on my PS2.
You know after you complete an RPG (role-playing game), you can still continue to play the game after all the ending sequences and credits by doing optional side quests.
And these optional side quests are really really tough and are just as challenging as playing the actual game storyline itself.
My point is, the difference now when completing these optional side quests is that you know that you have already completed the main game itself. The storyline has already ended, you already have the ultimate victory. These side quests are a challenge and will be frustrating, but you are already fighting FROM victory, not for victory!
Thanks sis for the sharing. I guess it really ties in to wot Pastor Joshua shared today, on this part of "lack mentality".
To me, wot differs FROM victory and For victory ties in very closely to our mentality.
When we turn to and see Jesus as our provider for all our needs, that we are no longer in lack; in other words refreshed in our thinking and rid of "i am lacking in..." mentality, we are lifted up to the position of fighting FROM victory.
That despite the challenges which could still be around, BUT with the change of mentality, we are lifted to a position of fighting FROM victory, fighting from a high point.
(Ain't sure if this is right, do correct me if i'm wrong...) Which could prolly be why the "he-who-shall-not-be-named" tries to steal by confusing our minds. Coz by doing so, our minds will not be refreshed to know we are provided for and shall be lifted up.
And that is fighting FOR victory... being in the "lack mentality", being in the position of low ground and trying to climb high with our own efforts. Not knowing that Jesus is (and will always be) stretching forth His hands and reaching out to us, waiting for us let go of trying but simply to grab his hands to be lifted to higher ground.
