Isaiah 9:1-7

1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan-
2 The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.

3 You have enlarged the nation
and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as men rejoice
when dividing the plunder.

4 For as in the day of Midian's defeat,
you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders,
the rod of their oppressor.

5 Every warrior's boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.

[every stumbling/weakness He uses to add to the fire of God burning in our hearts]

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.

He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Mark 11-12

Mark 12:28-44 (The Message)
The Most Important Commandment

29-31Jesus said, "The first in importance is, 'Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.' And here is the second: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' There is no other commandment that ranks with these."

32-33The religion scholar said, "A wonderful answer, Teacher! So lucid and accurate—that God is one and there is no other. And loving him with all passion and intelligence and energy, and loving others as well as you love yourself. Why, that's better than all offerings and sacrifices put together!"

34When Jesus realized how insightful he was, he said, "You're almost there, right on the border of God's kingdom."

You're almost there! Right when you realise you have reached the end of yourself, that you can never love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength! For the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17), and God will love YOU with all His heart, with all His Soul, and with all His mind, and with all His strength!!!

41-44
Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, "The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they'll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn't afford—she gave her all."

I'm pondering about this verse. I asked Daddy why it's here, especially when the preceding verses talk about loving Daddy with your everything. When I saw the words, "she gave her all", it just hit me!

Could it be, that one sure way to express your love to Daddy is through your offering? I'm not saying that putting money in the offering equates to loving God with your everything, but I'm saying that if you really really love God, you gotta put your money where your mouth is.

Money is so close to everyone's heart, and Pastor teaches us that faithful people are recognised through their tithes. So if you are willing to part with your money and give it to Jesus, that makes a bold statement in the eyes of God. Someone confirm this with me!

fresh anointing

somehow Daddy has been showing me verses on oil and anointing. like how He showed me the verses below when i came home after a really refreshing cg tonight:

Joel 2:18-27 (New King James Version)
18 Then the LORD will be zealous for His land,
And pity (compassion) His people.
19 The LORD will answer and say to His people,
“ Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil,
And you will be satisfied by them;
I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.
20 “ But I will remove far from you the northern army,
And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
With his face toward the eastern sea
And his back toward the western sea;
His stench will come up,
And his foul odor will rise,
Because he has done monstrous things.”
21 Fear not, O land;
Be glad and rejoice,
For the LORD has done marvelous things!
22 Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
For the open pastures are springing up,
And the tree bears its fruit;
The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the LORD your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He will cause the rain to come down for you—
The former rain,
And the latter rain in the first month.

24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat (increase),
And the vats shall overflow with new wine (freshly squeezed out grape juice) and oil (anointing).
25 “ So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the LORD your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.

27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the LORD your God
And there is no other.

My people shall never be put to shame.

come to think of it, i could've put the whole portion in bold. be blessed!

Mark 10

Mark 10:23-31 (Amplified & Message - Raphael Mix)
With God All Things Are Possible

You know what? I'm so blessed by today's quiet time that I'm gonna try something new. I'm going to remix both the Amplified and Message version of verse 29-31 to send home a more impactful message!!

- Note: Blue is Amplified & Red is Message

- v29 Jesus said, Mark my words, there is no one who has sacrificed house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands whatever for My sake and for the Gospel's (will lose out)

30 Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, (the bonus of) eternal life!

31 This is once again the Great Reversal: many [who are now] first will be last [then], and many [who are now] last will be first [then].

I was sharing with Cuijing over dinner just yesterday night that among my secular clique of friends, I'm the one with the lowest pay.

Even though, yes, my position would provide me with time to serve the Lord and a generally better quality of life (my other friends either have long working hours or have to standby for emergencies 24 hours a day in their jobs), but when it boils down to dollars and cents, I really lose out big time. And when they entice me to join them in their industries, I tell them that I choose not to go there.

But during this morning's quiet time, Daddy spoke to me with such an impact! He reassures me that whatever I do for Him now, He'll repay me back 100 times! My pay is $2,700/mth right now. Daddy says He's goin to give me back $270,000/mth!!! That makes me a Multi-Millionaire!!!! Can I believe that???? What did I just read yesterday in Mark 9:24? Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!

And although I am last now, I will be the first then!!!

God's love and man's love

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Rom 5:7-8 (NIV)

Jesus loved us and died for us inspite of who we are and what we have done...

Mark 9

Mark 9:14-29
A Boy is Healed

- v24. Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!
As I was shopping around Tecman today, I came across a keychain bearing my name, "Michelle". And it means Godliness, attached with verse 1timothy 4:8. Ain't sure what that exactly means, so decided to check this verse out...

1 Timothy 4:8(Amplified)

8
For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.

Remembering wot George mentioned last time. Don't just study 1 verse... expound on the preceding and verses that follows after as well...

So I read further... and I love wot I read...

1Timothy 4:9-16(Amplified)

9This saying is reliable and worthy of complete acceptance by everybody.

10With a view to this we toil and strive, [yes and] suffer reproach, because we have [fixed our] hope on the living God, Who is the Savior (Preserver, Maintainer, Deliverer) of all men, especially of those who believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him).

11Continue to command these things and to teach them.

12Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.

13Till I come, devote yourself to [public and private] reading, to exhortation (preaching and personal appeals), and to teaching and instilling doctrine.

14Do not neglect the gift which is in you, [that special inward endowment] which was directly imparted to you [by the Holy Spirit] by prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands upon you [at your ordination].

15Practice and cultivate and meditate upon these duties; throw yourself wholly into them [as your ministry], so that your progress may be evident to everybody.

16Look well to yourself [to your own personality] and to [your] teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

These verses are extremely timely for me!!! For the past few days, it has been "mistakes day" for me. Made alot of mistakes while serving in RSM and leading P n W during RSM outing last Sunday. Doubt myself; doubt my giftings. My heart was pricked by the corrections I got from my leaders and fellow beloveds and I thought... "of all people, why me?"

But I've come to know, the their hearts are for me... for my spiritual growth, that through my life , it shines forth Jesus's glory and my progress shall be evident to everybody around me.

And manx... I'm just so precious to be placed in a ministry where we are encouraged through our mistakes!

To those who r gonna be involved in the orientation, it's gonna be a great project to be involved in, get geared up for growth!!! Events are areas where ur hearts' capacity are gonna be enlarged, a time where u'll established EVEN more kingdom friendships with others. Beyond the CG!!! I treasure the fellowships I had during Woohoo last year and learnt alot from the rest! LOads of restoration of friendships! Share with one another the things u go through in the midst of this event, be it difficulties u faced while participating in the planning, or things u experienced in ur daily life.

It's not about the tasks that you have to complete... Daddy God doesn't give u things/roles for you to slog and struggle.... believe it or not, this event is also YOUR event. At the end of it... U'll be so thrilled as u reflect on ur progress!

BE EGGCITED FOR GREATER THINGS TO COME BELOVEDS!!!

the finished work begins in your mind

“ We have a strong city;
Godwill appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.
Open the gates,
That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
Trust in the LORD forever,
For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.

isaiah 26: 1-4

let us fervently guard what we choose to keep in our minds. let us not allow any ounce of pride or self consciousness or lies of the devil to dwell in our minds. let us choose to dwell on Jesus, His finished work, His grace and find strength every single day

Mark 8

Mark 8:22-26
A Blind Man Healed at Bethsaida

- v23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.

Isaiah 8
Assyria Will Invade the Land
1 Moreover the LORD said to me, “Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. 2 And I will take for Myself faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”
3 Then I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the LORD said to me, “Call his name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz; 4 for before the child shall have knowledge to cry ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria.”
5 The LORD also spoke to me again, saying:
6 “ Inasmuch as these people refused
The waters of Shiloah that flow softly,
And rejoice in Rezin and in Remaliah’s son;
7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over them
The waters of the River, strong and mighty—
The king of Assyria and all his glory;
He will go up over all his channels
And go over all his banks.
8 He will pass through Judah,
He will overflow and pass over,
He will reach up to the neck;
And the stretching out of his wings
Will fill the breadth of Your land, O Immanuel.
9 “ Be shattered, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces!
Give ear, all you from far countries.
Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces;
Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces.
10 Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;
Speak the word, but it will not stand,
For God is with us.”

reading on...

Isaiah 11
1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD,

And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
6 “ The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
7 The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD
As the waters cover the sea.

10 “ And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people;
For the Gentiles shall seek Him,
And His resting place shall be glorious.

Mark 7

Mark 7:31-37
Jesus Heals a Deaf-Mute

- v36 Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it.

all from God for God 2

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

...then...
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue... knowledge... self-control... steadfastness... godliness... brotherly affection... and... love.
For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

-2Peter 1:3-7(ESV)
